From the beginning this site has been about capturing the beauty and uniqueness the city of Memphis offers. It began as a blog accompanying a personal goal to photograph all my favorite places in Memphis. Due to time/money/transportation/other constraints that goal was never fully realized. But the goal of showcasing the best of Memphis is still alive, which is why this site is taking a different direction.
Over the last two years I’ve gotten to know some amazing photographers in Memphis. I want to shift the focus of this blog to them – the people who are truly “shooting” Memphis. From now on this site will be dedicated to the Memphis photography scene – showcasing the best Memphis photographers, Memphis photography, photography tips and news. Instead of a personal project of mine I want it to become a project of the people, of the city. We can all celebrate the beauty of the city and the great work of photographers within it.
In addition to changing the focus to the topics mentioned above, there will now be a Memphis Photographers Directory. If you know someone looking for a photographer in the area you can direct them to the Memphis photographer’s listings and they can find exactly what they need there. The next few months will be spent building up this listing until it is the number one resource for people searching for quality photographers in Memphis.
I’m excited about the new direction of the site and happy that I will be doing two things I love – showcasing the beauty and talent of Memphis and helping people who need a service. It’s going to be amazing!
